PFN 640+ v2 : Multifunctional thermal imager

The PFN640+ v2 is the smallest thermal imaging multipurpose monocular based on the new 12µm sensor. The combination of 60Hz refresh rate and the latest 12µm sensor with a resolution of 640×480 pixels provides a razor sharp image. Resistance to adverse weather conditions such as fog, rain, snowfall or large temperature fluctuations from -40°C to +60°C does not affect the performance of the device.

The PFN has two viewing modes: handheld or clip-on.

Clip-on mode and helmet-mounted mode are identical. The image is reduced in size to show a 1x display. When the PFN 640+ v2 is set to Handheld mode, the image is magnified to 1.3x. In the 1.3x image display, the image section is round. The screen also has an inclinometer and a digital compass.

The PFN has three simple buttons. Power, Menu and Image. These keys have different functions depending on how long you hold them down. If you press the Power key, the device is switched on. If you press and hold the button while the unit is on, it will enter a menu to turn the unit off. If you press the power button briefly, the sensor will be recalibrated. With the middle menu key, you can call up the options menu by pressing briefly. Press and hold to switch from handheld to clip-on mode. Short press the picture button to take a photo. Long press captures a video.

There is a USB-C connector on the side. The PFN comes with a split USB/BNC video output cable. The USB port is used to download images and video. The BNC video output is used to output the thermal image via a mini DVR.

Standard 18650 rechargeable batteries are used for operation.

Due to the 2x and 4x digital magnification, even objects at great distances can be observed and identified perfectly.

Thanks to the 25mm objective lens, the PFN can be used for both close-up and long-distance observation.

The overall height with Picatinny rail is 46.5mm.

The PFN 640+ v2 is delivered without integrated reticle. On request, the reticle can be programmed.

According to German law: With programmed reticle, no Picatinny / weapon mount may be screwed on. With a valid hunting license and without a programmed reticle, the Picatinny / weapon mount may be mounted on the device and the PFN640+ may be used as an attachment on the weapon.

Abroad, this regulation may differ and must be observed.
